The incident occurred around 11.30, when at number 13 a trunk was broken by the strong gusts. Fortunately, there were no injuries.

Immediately, the Carabinieri and the municipal police arrived at the scene, closing the road in both directions to allow the firefighters to operate. Using a chainsaw, the firefighters divided the trunk and branches that had fallen on the road to facilitate their easier and quicker removal.

“These scenes are the failure of green policy in the city,” attacks Antonio Nicolao, vice president of the first district. “It is unthinkable that there are so few gardeners taking care of a heritage of about seventy thousand trees. We remember that a few months ago, a similar incident occurred in via Costantino Lascaris. This is one of those areas that needs serious attention.”
