Arms and ammunition found at home, arrested in Acireale

A 53-year-old man was arrested in Acireale by the police for possessing two loaded .38 caliber revolvers, a 12-gauge hunting rifle with a cut-off barrel, all with either erased or nonexistent serial numbers, numerous ammunition, and five powerful homemade explosive devices. Also, several cloned vehicle license plates, identical to the original plates, were seized. The weapons and ammunition were sent to the Regional Office of Forensic Police in Catania for examination. The explosive devices were handed over to the Bomb Disposal Unit of the General Prevention and Public Assistance Office in Catania and safely detonated as per the order of the prosecutor on duty. The arrested individual is facing charges of illegal possession of altered and illegal weapons, ammunition, explosive materials, and handling stolen goods.
