Appeals court clears Enopolio di Pantelleria board of bankruptcy
The fourth section of the Court of Appeal of Palermo, chaired by Vittorio Anania, has acquitted S.B. and A.D., members of the board of directors of Enopolio di Pantelleria at the time of the events (2010), of charges of fraudulent bankruptcy. In 2010, Enopolio di Pantelleria was subjected to administrative receivership following the appointment of a liquidator. However, there were discrepancies in the management of the organization, leading to insolvency. Investigations by the financial police led to the members of the board of directors being charged with fraudulent bankruptcy. The trial took place in front of the court of Marsala, which ultimately acquitted the defendants of fraudulent bankruptcy charges. The accused appealed the decision, and the Court of Appeal of Palermo has now acquitted them, overturning the civil dispositions of the first-degree sentence.
