Altavilla massacre: 17-year-old girl saved by sudden windstorm.

A new truth told by Giovanni Barreca to his lawyer, Giancarlo Barracato, and to the defense consultant, the criminologist Roberta Bruzzone: in the prison of Enna, where yesterday he received the lawyer and the expert, the prison cleaner for the massacre of Altavilla Milicia (Palermo) said that after the murders of his wife and two of his three children, the eldest daughter, aged 17, also had to be sacrificed. The girl was said to have been saved by a gust of wind that struck, on the night between the 10th and 11th of February, the town in the hinterland of the Sicilian capital: believing it was a “sign of the devil”, both Barreca and the couple of preachers – now also in prison – Massimo Carandente and Sabrina Fina, allegedly decided to abandon the villa. The girl was left alone, locked and blindfolded in her room, in the house of horrors. The mason, after leaving the two at the railway station of the town, remained in the car and then called his brother and sister: in the end he turned to the carabinieri to surrender.

Barreca’s version is under investigation by the prosecutors of the Termini Imerese (Palermo) and the military of the company of the Palermo town, who today accompanied lawyer Barracato and Bruzzone to the scene of the crime, where they carried out some surveys. The 17-year-old daughter of the main suspect is also in prison, in a female juvenile facility, because she is alleged to have participated in the massacre, culminating in the murders of her mother, Antonella Salamone, whose body was later burned, her 5-year-old brother, Emanuel, and Kevin, the other 16-year-old brother, murdered because he had tried to rebel against the two “brothers of God.”
