Agrigento starts work to fix streets Cavaleri Magazzeni, Serraferlicchio, and degli Ulivi.

In Agrigento, work has begun to restore the road surface and recover the walls of Cavaleri Magazzeni, Serraferlicchio, and degli Ulivi streets. This is made possible by a €500,000 funding from the Sicilian Region, provided by the Department of Civil Protection for urgent interventions due to the exceptional meteorological events of 2018 that hit the city of Agrigento.

Mayor Francesco Miccichè commented: “This is another important intervention that allows us to improve safety on the roads, to protect the entire community. We continue to work in the interest of Agrigento, which is preparing to become the Italian Capital of Culture 2025.” The mayor emphasized the need for “infrastructural and urban works aimed at reducing any form of discomfort and making our ‘business card’ more appealing. I thank our representatives in the Sicilian Region, President Schifani for his constant support, and Engineer Cocina for the opportunity granted.”

Public Works Councillor Gerlando Principato (pictured above with Miccichè) added: “This is news that we welcome with enthusiasm. It will be possible to start the works, to be completed by 2024, on municipal roads that have long been left in a state of neglect. We will strive to minimize inconvenience to the residents of the areas involved in the works, hoping for understanding and collaboration from the citizens.”
