Agrigento named 2025 Capital of Culture by Foundation, decree signed
The prefect Filippo Romano has signed the decree granting legal personality to the Agrigento 2025 Foundation, named the Italian capital of culture for 2025. Starting from today, the foundation is a recognized public entity. The official establishment of the foundation “Agrigento 2025” took place on 17th February and Giacomo Minio, a professor of economics, business, and statistics at the University of Palermo, has been appointed as the president of the foundation.
The foundation’s purpose is to implement the project approved by the Ministry of Culture for the proclamation of the city of Agrigento as the Italian Capital of Culture for 2025.
