A new inclusive playground emerges at Villa Bonfiglio in Agrigento.

The construction of an inclusive playground without architectural barriers is taking shape at Villa Bonfiglio in Agrigento. New equipment such as swings, slides, and other structures for young children have already been installed. This popular area for local families will now include a space specifically designed for children with disabilities. The project, proposed by the Municipality of Agrigento, was considered viable and funded by the regional Department of Family, Social Policies, and Labour. The existing playground, which covers an area of approximately 1,500 square meters, will be expanded, renovated, and equipped with new facilities for all children to use. The project, which received funding in 2019, was delayed and incurred additional costs for the municipality. Despite this, the current administration decided to proceed with the project to provide a safe and accessible playground for children. The new playground at Villa Bonfiglio will complement the ones already built in the Giardina Gallotti and Montaperto neighborhoods.
