A Capaci bids farewell to Christian, killed in Palermo accident: “Brother, we won’t forget you”

A crowd in tears for the last farewell to Gaetano Christian Puccio, the 23-year-old boy who lost his life in the accident on Viale Regione Siciliana in Palermo. The funeral was held at the Church of the Addolorata in Piazza Matrice in Capaci, where the community gathered around the family struck by the tragedy. It was a morning of pain and anger for the death of Christian, who was in a Fiat Punto driven by a man in his forties from Carini on the night of the tragedy (between the 9th and 10th of December). In the crash with another car, which occurred near Via Principe di Paternò, he sustained injuries that left him with no chance of survival. Many saw him as a brother, a great friend always available and with a smile on his face. Those who knew the young man cannot find peace: “He still had a life ahead of him, to spend with us, his lifelong friends. Since we found out what happened, we can’t stop crying.” As the coffin left the church, there were applause, fireworks, and Neapolitan music that Christian loved so much. A moment of great emotion for the friends and relatives who accompanied him on his final journey.
