In relation to the interruption of Geolier’s concert on July 20 at the Cantieri Culturali della Zisa and the news spread in the press, a clarification from the police headquarters of Palermo has been issued. “As established by law, considering the entrepreneurial and profit-driven activity carried out by the event organizer, it is that individual who bears the responsibilities related to the adoption of safety and security measures,” reads the statement. “Regarding the event in question, an investigative phase aimed at identifying several violations concerning the requirements linked to the Public Security license issued by the Questore (Police Chief) has already been initiated. If these violations are confirmed, administrative and potentially criminal sanctions will be applied.”

“In order to verify the mentioned violations and update and contextualize the requirements that the Questore of the province of Palermo will adopt for future events, a site inspection was conducted at the Cantieri Culturali della Zisa this morning, as ordered by the Provincial Commission for the supervision of public entertainment venues, by members of the police headquarters, firefighters, and the local health authority (ASP). In case further violations are found, the Questore reserves the right to revoke licenses. Further punitive measures will be taken against those who caused the interruption of the show by going on stage, and the identification process is being carried out by personnel from the Police Station “Zisa-Borgo Nuovo”,” concludes the statement from the Questura (Police Headquarters).
