Five more landings in Lampedusa, transfers from the overcrowded hotspot increased.

A total of 221 migrants have landed in Lampedusa after their five boats were rescued by the Coast Guard and Finance Guard patrol boats. Only one of the five boats, carrying 43 Afghan, Bangladeshi, Egyptian, Pakistani, Senegalese, and Syrian migrants, departed from Zuwara in Libya. The other four boats, carrying 38, 45, 45, and 50 people from Ivory Coast, Guinea, Liberia, Mali, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, and Sudan, set sail from Sfax in Tunisia. They have all been taken to the Contrada Imbriacola hotspot, where there are currently 2,104 guests. This morning, on the order of the Agrigento Prefecture, the police boarded 760 guests onto the Galaxy ferry, which will soon arrive in Porto Empedocle. In the afternoon, 113 migrants were transferred with a Finance Guard ship heading towards Pozzallo, and another transfer of 190 people is scheduled for the evening with the Cossydra ferry.
