Drug hidden in garage sniffed out by dog, dealer reported in Catania
The Flying Squad of the police has reported a 48-year-old offender from Catania for the crime of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking. In recent days, the motorbike unit officers of the General Prevention and Public Assistance Office, together with the K9 Unit, carried out some checks aimed at combating the drug trafficking phenomenon in the area of Via Fossa della Creta in Catania.
Arriving near a basement garage locked with a padlock, the infallible nose of the drug-sniffing dog allowed the officers to find various types of drugs following a local search; in particular, 17 grams of marijuana, 6 grams of hashish, and 2 grams of cocaine were found and seized, as well as a precision scale.
The owner of the garage, known for crimes related to drug trafficking and currently under probation to social services, was reported for the crime of possession with intent to distribute narcotics.
