Improved emergency response service in Sicily for major emergencies
Enhanced the healthcare module of the Seus 118 relating to emergency assistance in major emergencies. Usable in calamitous events – such as earthquakes, floods, landslides, and floods, and in accidents with a high number of injured people, it can rely on a new advanced medical post with two large pneumatic tents (10 meters long, 6 meters wide, and 3 meters high) with electrical system, heat pump, beds, electromedical equipment (defibrillators, ventilators, aspirators, ultrasound machines), and medical carts.

We can also rely on the considerable professionalism of our rescuers, who always operate in perfect synergy with the doctors and nurses of the 4 operational centers of the Sicilian 118.”
The renewed healthcare module can also rely on a 4×4 Msa ambulance, an Msb ambulance, a 9-seater special purpose van, a 4×4 car, a coordination and logistics coordination car with a towing hook, and an Ais jet ski with a trailer. There is also a regional command unit with 2 workstations equipped with a PC and internet connection, a radio communication station.
There is also a van with aquatic and alluvial equipment: a “Takacat” catamaran for 7 people, a floating stretcher, personal protective equipment, technical equipment, overalls, and boots. A Uge van contains primarily personal protective equipment for cases of danger of contagion from biological, chemical, and radiological substances: masks with hepa filters, suits, gloves, and shoe covers.
In the same van, there is also the necessary equipment for traumatized and polytraumatized patients: spinal boards with head immobilizer, adult and pediatric spider straps, scoop stretchers, rigid and vacuum splints, vacuum mattresses, and casualty transport sheets.
