Mafia case: 15-year sentence sought in appeal for former regional deputy Ruggirello

The appeal process Scrigno, stemming from the investigation by the Carabinieri of Trapani in 2019, is reaching its final stages. Some of the defendants involved, who have chosen the ordinary trial, are now facing trial. Among them is former regional deputy Paolo Ruggirello. The Prosecutor General Rita Fulantelli has requested a 15-year sentence for him for mafia association. In the first instance, the Trapani court, presided over by Daniela Troja, had sentenced the former parliamentarian to 12 years for external participation in a mafia association. The same prosecutor has also requested an 8-year sentence for mafia-related political exchange for Vito Mannina and Alessandro Manuguerra.
