Man arrested in Acireale for entering home and mistreating ex-wife

In recent days, the police executed an arrest warrant issued by the Penitentiary Executions Office of the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of Appeal of Catania against a 44-year-old man from Acireale, arresting him as he had been sentenced to 3 years in prison for domestic violence and aggravated assault against his ex-wife. The woman had filed a complaint against her husband in January 2023, tired of the abuse and violence she had been subjected to since 2009, even though they had separated in 2016. The investigation carried out by the police in Acireale confirmed the woman’s accusations, with testimony and medical certificates showing the injuries she suffered. The man was arrested in April of last year and was convicted of domestic violence in Acireale from 2009 to September 2023, as well as aggravated assault in October 2017 and December 2022. He was found at his workplace and taken to the police station before being transferred to the Piazza Lanza prison in Catania to serve his sentence.
