Volunteer accused of scamming nuns for 200k euros in Palermo

Explain in short the following article:

For two years, he would have used money meant for managing a nursing home to buy cars, motorcycles, and renovate his own house. This was discovered by the tax police of the provincial command of the Guardia di Finanza in Palermo, who, coordinated by the prosecutor, reported a man from Palermo who allegedly stole around 200,000 euros from a female religious institute where he volunteered.

According to what was discovered by the military of the second operational metropolitan unit of the Palermo group, the man, taking advantage of his role as a trusted person of the director of the community of nuns and as a volunteer in the connected nursing home, received money from the congregation to manage the material and financial aspects of the nursing home, which he instead used for personal purposes.

The tax police in Palermo, through the analysis of bank documentation and after interviewing those who were aware of the volunteer’s activities, reconstructed that approximately 200,000 euros were stolen from the mother superior of the community and two other sisters over the years.
