Donkeys from abusive farm escape, end up on Catania airport runway

Explanation: The police carried out a blitz in a large parking lot in the Fontanarossa area, where they discovered an illegal donkey breeding facility. Some of the animals had escaped and reached the nearby airport runway, posing a danger to themselves and air traffic before being safely secured. The owner of the area was fined about 8,000 euros for various irregularities. Checks were also carried out in four stables in the San Cristoforo neighborhood, where the horses were found to be in good health and registered in a database with microchips, except for one which was promptly brought into compliance. The owner of the stable was fined 1,500 euros for not having a company code for one of the horses.
