Large-scale maneuvers for a new party

Just two days after the announcement, the federation is already transforming into a new party. Raffaele Lombardo is outlining the contours with Gianfranco Micciché and Roberto Lagalla: “It will be a moderate, liberal, democratic, and autonomist area. And I can assure you that it is already worth well over 10%,” is the former Regional president’s prediction. So it’s not just a federative pact between the two rebellious leaders of the center-right supporting Schifani in the Region and the mayor of Palermo (also on the other side of the river from the president). The project is broader and travels in steps. Yesterday Lombardo was in Palermo and intensified contacts with Lagalla. Then he met various mayors and councilors from the area and in the evening he moved to Trapani to weave his web there: “There are many adhesions ready from political areas interested in our project.”
