Patient flees through window, trapped in courtyard. Search ensues, found after hours.
He attempted to escape in the middle of the night, forcing a sealed window with screws, from the psychiatric diagnosis and care service (Spdc) of the Civico hospital in Partinico where he had been hospitalized since last October 5th. He lowered himself into a very tight shaft, where he got stuck. The staff of the ward searched for him all night and only this morning they managed to find him. The intervention of the fire brigade was necessary to access and free the man. After being treated for minor abrasions, he will continue his treatment. The healthcare management has initiated an internal investigation to verify and evaluate what happened.
