Carini residents lack family doctor, redirected to Terrasini.
The first aid point in Carini, within the emergency territorial point (former Santo Spirito hospital), in Piazza Monsignor Vincenzo Badalamenti, is temporarily moving, until October 28th, to the offices of the Terrasini medical guard. The director of the 34 health district, of which Carini is the lead, communicates this to the municipality, explaining that the transfer is due to a state of care suffering in the Terrasini area, caused by the resignation of the general practitioner not yet replaced. Mayor Giovì Monteleone wrote to regional Health Assessor Giovanna Volo requesting her urgent intervention for a quick resolution of the case.
“It is not acceptable that – declares the mayor – for a mere bureaucratic delay, the Carini community, already penalized by insufficient health services, is deprived of an essential service like the Point of First Aid. I must say that, shortly after my request – concludes Monteleone – we were informed, to my great relief, that the inconvenience will be limited to 15 days.”
