Open Fiber’s optical fiber arrives in Enna
The Open Fiber optical fiber has also arrived in the province of Enna. Families, professionals, and businesses can now access the best connectivity available on the market, with an extra opportunity to win a gift voucher thanks to the initiative “Open Fiber the choice that rewards you”. All residential users in Cerami, Centuripe, and Aidone who activate a fast connection through Open Fiber’s partner operators by January 31, 2025, can receive a 100 euro voucher to convert into an Amazon.it Gift Card, MediaWorld gift card, or fuel voucher. The deadline to request the prizes is set for March 31, 2025.
To access this opportunity, simply check the coverage of your address on https://openfiber.it/win-gift-4/, choose a partner operator, and activate your fast connection: after installation, fill out the form to generate the voucher. It is important to make sure that the installer applies the code sticker to the optical plug.
From Monday 14 to Friday 18 October (from 9 am to 6 pm), Cerami will host the first stage of the Open Fiber Tour, the initiative that promotes the advantages of Ftth optical fiber in small urban centers. The Open Fiber camper will be parked on Corso Roma (next to the Giovanni Verga comprehensive institute). The other tour stages will be held in Centuripe (from 21 to 25 October) and Aidone (from 28 October to 1 November).
The ultra-fast network now available in the three municipalities of Enna reaches a total of 7,610 properties through Ftth technology (Fiber-to-the-home, fiber optic laid inside buildings), the only solution capable of guaranteeing connection speeds of 10 gigabits per second. This is a strategic investment for the digitalization of the territory that does not burden the budgets of the municipalities involved. The technological infrastructure was financed with regional and state funds as part of the Ultra-Broadband Band Plan (BUL) managed by Infratel Italia, a company of the Ministry of Businesses and Made in Italy, with the coordination of the Sicilian Region. The new network is and will remain publicly owned.
“Thanks to the Ftth network and the cabling project of Open Fiber, these municipalities now have an ultra-broadband network capable of delivering increasing data traffic volumes, enabling fast and empowering use of connections for smart working, streaming HD content, online shopping, and remote access to Public Administration services,” says Sergio Sciacca, field manager coordinator of Open Fiber for eastern Sicily.
