Palermo, Daspo issued to a group of seven boys who attacked peers in nightlife venues

The police chief of Palermo has issued a “Daspo” order against seven Palermo youths, three of whom are minors, accused of assaulting six young people in the city center, causing them injuries and bruises. The incident occurred last January, at night, in Piazza Marchese Di Regalmici, near Politeama. The attackers also insulted the victims with homophobic remarks and threatened them with repercussions if they called the authorities. Some of the attackers then entered a nearby Mini Market, where they threatened the owner and stole alcoholic beverages. The seven are under investigation for personal injuries and aggravated threats in conjunction. Five of them are also under investigation for aggravated robbery in conjunction. In particular, the ban prevents the young recipients from accessing certain public establishments for a period of two years for two of the individuals and for a period of three years for the others; it also prohibits them from passing through or staying in the area where the events took place, which is home to several nightlife venues frequented by young people. For three of them, the ban has been extended to all public entertainment venues or establishments within the entire province, and they are required to report to the police offices on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
