Matteo Messina Denaro’s last hideout seized by the mafia

The hideout on Via Cb31 or Vicolo San Vito, in Campobello di Mazara (Trapani), where Matteo Messina Denaro lived before being arrested, has been confiscated: this was decided by the Gup of the court of Palermo, Paolo Magro, in the sentence that sentenced the surveyor Andrea Bonafede to 14 years, the man who had lent his identity to the fugitive from Castelvetrano (Trapani). The apartment, discovered by the Ros at the time of the arrest (which took place in Palermo, in front of the La Maddalena clinic, on January 16, 2023), was purchased with money from Messina Denaro and for this reason the judge, accepting the prosecutor’s arguments, deemed it the “proceeds of the crime” of mafia association that led to Bonafede’s conviction.
