Halt water supply from Rosamarina reservoir due to murky water, causing inconvenience in Palermo area

A high turbidity level in the water coming from the Rosamarina reservoir has caused the suspension of withdrawals for treatment at the Risalaimi water treatment plant. The Regional Department of Water and Waste, which manages the reservoir, is investigating the causes of the issue and working on a solution. To minimize disruptions, withdrawals from other reservoirs have been increased, but may not fully compensate for the lack of water from the Rosamarina. Service disruptions may affect several municipalities in the eastern metropolitan area of Palermo.
