80-year-old pedestrian in Giarre dies after being hit by a Panda car on via Trieste intersection

More blood on the streets of Giarre. An eighty-year-old pedestrian, whose details have not been provided, died after being hit by a small car while trying to cross the road. The incident reportedly occurred this morning around 11 am. The man, who was trying to cross near the intersection of via Trieste and corso Europa, was hit by a Fiat Panda traveling on corso Europa.

From a preliminary reconstruction, the driver of the car, immediately after passing the intersection with via Trieste, suddenly found the pedestrian in front of him, unable to avoid the impact and therefore hit him.

The victim reportedly died hitting the asphalt despite resuscitation attempts by the medical staff of the 118 emergency services who arrived at the scene. The officers of the municipal police command of Giarre carried out the surveys to understand the exact dynamics. The driver of the Panda, in a state of shock, is under the care of medical staff.
