4 viaducts and a tunnel between Buonfornello and Scillato on the Palermo-Catania highway reopened

Four viaducts of the Palermo-Catania highway (A19) are now accessible again, allowing for improved traffic flow and safety for drivers, according to Anas. The announcement was made by the President of the Sicilian Region, Renato Schifani, who serves as the extraordinary commissioner for coordinating interventions on the A19. The works, totaling over 7.3 million euros, included refurbishment of the viaducts and a tunnel, as well as the installation of new safety barriers and drainage pavement. The completion of these works will extend the lifespan of the infrastructure constructed over fifty years ago and enhance the level of service and safety conditions for traffic circulation.
