4 Palermitans arrested for stealing eight motorcycles and a van in one night

The Carabinieri executed a precautionary measure of imprisonment, issued by the judge for preliminary investigations of the Termini Imerese Court, at the request of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, against four individuals, three in their twenties and one man aged 27, from Palermo and already known to the authorities, investigated for the theft of 8 motorcycles that occurred on November 7 in Lercara Friddi and a van stolen the same night in Bagheria. The theft was carried out by forcibly opening the garage shutter where the motorcycles were stored, using the stolen van as a battering ram. Two of the detainees are also being investigated for receiving the stolen van.

Immediate investigations initiated, under the direction of the Termini Imerese Public Prosecutor’s Office, have allowed to ascertain the responsibility of the four individuals as well as to collect evidence, under the consideration of the judicial authority, against 8 individuals who could plausibly have come into possession of the motorcycles after the thefts.

The measures were carried out by the military of the Lercara Friddi company, with the support of the operational intervention company of the 12th Carabinieri Regiment “Sicili” and the company commands of the Palermo and Monreale group.
