22 workers out of 23 found illegally employed, two entrepreneurs reported

During inspections, the Carabinieri discovered that out of 23 workers in two agricultural companies in Canicattì, 22 were working illegally. These companies were involved in the production and sale of table grapes and peaches. The carabinieri were assisted by the labor inspectorate, the Canicattì company, and the regional inspection staff. The two agricultural businessmen, aged 54 and 50, were reported to the prosecutor’s office for violations of workplace safety regulations. They were found responsible for failing to provide health supervision and training to workers regarding the risks associated with their activities. One of the companies had its business activity suspended, resulting in an immediate halt to production. The total fines amounted to 51,100 euros, along with administrative sanctions of 4,000 euros.
