14 businesses closed for illegal activities in Palermo’s via Sant’Agostino, with stolen car and motorcycle parts found.

The municipal police officers closed 14 businesses in the market of Via Sant’Agostino, in Palermo. Over 40 officers from the Ugo La Malfa command took part in the checks, discovering that many stalls had been fixed to the pavement for years without building permits and, in some cases, without commercial licenses. In some of the stalls, opened by the fire department, spare parts for cars and motorcycles were found. According to investigators, this material could be stolen. Teams of Enel technicians also participated in the operation to verify illegal connections to the public network. Overall, about ten people were identified, and their positions are now being examined by the command and the Prosecutor’s Office. Investigations are ongoing regarding building permits and work that may have been carried out without authorization or clearance.
