14 arrested in joint Germany-Sicily anti-drug operation, one suspect at large.

In the early hours of this morning, the Carabinieri of the Ros, assisted in the operational phase by the provincial commands of the Carabinieri of Enna, Caltanissetta, Catania, and Brescia, carried out a precautionary custody order issued by the judge of the court of Caltanissetta – at the request of the District Anti-Mafia Directorate – against 14 people (another was not arrested because they were not found) heavily suspected of being part of a criminal association aimed at the production and trafficking of drugs such as marijuana and hashish, aggravated by the availability of weapons.

These are the names of the arrested individuals: Vincenzo Scaletta, 59 years old, Alfonso Aleo, 60 years old, Aurora Chiara Aleo, 30 years old, Valentina Stella Aleo, 35 years old, Giuseppe Fantauzzo, 59 years old, Benedetto Paternò, 63 years old, Giuseppe Testa, 36 years old, all from Barrafranca, in the province of Enna. And also: the Catania natives Emanuele Arcidiacono, 28 years old, Giuseppe Piacente, 24 years old, Mario Piacente, 30 years old, Salvatore Riolo, 26 years old, Santo Riolo, 42 years old, Giuseppe Palermo, 43 years old from Caltanissetta, Jessica Marotta, 29 years old from Caltanissetta.
