13-year-old raped in Catania, meeting with judges delayed

The protected hearing requested by the District Attorney’s Offices for Adults and Minors of Catania, as incidental proof, of the thirteen-year-old victim of aggravated group sexual violence committed on January 30 in the municipal gardens of Villa Bellini and her 17-year-old boyfriend has been postponed to April 23 due to a notification defect and to conduct a preliminary examination before the hearing. The act has been issued against seven suspects, all Egyptians: five adults and two minors. Six of them are in prison and one is under house arrest. The incidental proof was requested by the Deputy District Attorney Sebastiano Ardita, Deputy Prosecutor Anna Trinchillo, and the Prosecutor for Minors Carla Santocono. The hearing will take place before the juvenile judge. The case was investigated by the Carabinieri of the Catania provincial command.
