11 fines and vehicle seizures as waste is dumped in Catania

In Catania, 11 people were caught dumping waste on the streets by the environmental police with the help of cameras. The mayor and local police officials directed the crackdown on illegal waste dumping. One person was caught on a motorbike dumping a large amount of wood waste, while 10 others were caught on camera. The vehicles used for illegal dumping were seized and all 11 people were reported to the authorities. Fines for illegal waste dumping can range from 1000 to 10000 euros.
