His family describes him as a man of honesty and intellectual integrity who always smiled through adversity, until the recent unjust criticism that left him feeling fragile. Re was involved in organizing a sports film festival and had faced criticism in the weeks leading up to his death. His family appeals for reflection on the events leading to his death and emphasizes the need to prevent similar incidents in the future. His funeral will be held on Saturday at the Church of Santa Lucia in Agrigento.
