The strong wind that has whipped Sicily in the past hours caused a road accident, during the night, on the A20 Messina-Palermo highway, at the Inganno viaduct, in the territory of Acquedolci. The driver of a truck, apparently due to the very strong gusts of wind, lost control of the vehicle which ended up against the guardrail.
A heavy vehicle overturned on the A20 Messina Palermo highway, flipping over. The driver was injured. The emergency services were alerted, an ambulance arrived on the scene, the medical staff provided first aid and transported the injured man, apparently not seriously, to the emergency room of the Sant’Agata Militello hospital.
The highway police of Sant’Agata Militello also arrived on the scene, along with the Cas and firefighting teams. It was necessary to close the Messina – Palermo highway between the exits of Sant’Agata Militello and Santo Stefano di Camastra, the road axis that was reopened shortly before 8am.
