Another piece of a complex puzzle falls into place. The framework agreement for the maintenance of roads and sidewalks, already set in motion for other interventions, will be activated starting next week for the patching of some streets between Ballarò and the upper part of Corso Tukory. A zone that seems riddled with potholes, lacking any kind of maintenance for at least three years, and that now finally sees an end to neglect.
Two ordinances have been issued by the Traffic and Mobility office to regulate traffic and delimit the sections of the streets involved in the works, with the establishment of removal zones on both sides and closure to vehicular traffic during the phases. Access will be guaranteed for residents living in the area, holders of regular driveways, emergency vehicles, and law enforcement.
After the works on Via Brasa, at the entrance of Viale delle Scienze, Via Basile, Corso Calatafimi, and Piazza Indipendenza, it is now the turn of Corrado Avolio, Giuliano Majali; Cesare Battisti; Torino; Trieste; San Francesco Saverio, Giovanni Di Cristina, Benedettini; Giorgio Arcoleo, Corso Re Ruggero, and Piazza Porta Montalto, in front of the Children’s Hospital. At the moment, work is also taking place in the Pallavicino area, in a section of Via Castelforte.
As seen before, this resurfacing and leveling of ditches, bumps, and indentations will mainly be carried out at night. In this area, the arrival of workers and vehicles has been awaited for years because the road conditions have deteriorated significantly over the months.
