Ravanusa massacre: Two technicians indicted, no dismissal for ten Italgas executives

Explain for me briefly the following article:

Two people have been indicted for the explosion on December 11, 2021, in Via Trilussa, Ravanusa, in the province of Agrigento. There were 9 deaths, including a young woman who was about to give birth a few days later. The two technicians facing trial are Guido Catalano, a 77-year-old engineer and technical director of Siciliana Gas at the time of the methane pipeline installation where the explosion occurred, and Carmelo Burgarello, an 88-year-old technical manager of A.Mi.Ca. Srl, the company responsible for laying the pipeline in question. The judge accepted the request of the prosecutor Salvatore Vella to indict them. The prosecutor’s request to shelve the investigation against 10 regional and national Italgas officials was rejected, with the judge ordering further investigations to be conducted within 6 months. The families of the victims, including the son of Professor Pietro Carmina, opposed the case being closed. Professor Carmina’s retirement letter, in which he bid farewell to his students, had touched the entire nation and even President Sergio Mattarella mentioned it in his New Year’s speech.
