Car accident in the night on Via Eugenio l’Emiro, in the Zisa district of Palermo. A motorcycle and a car were involved in the collision, with a 43-year-old man traveling on the two-wheeled vehicle being the most severely injured: the impact was very violent and he was thrown from the saddle, ending up on the asphalt. When the alarm was raised, the paramedics of the 118 arrived on the scene and transported him to the emergency room in code red. Investigations are being carried out by the officers of the Municipal Police Traffic Accident unit who conducted the surveys on the scene. Another serious accident occurred on the Monreale ring road, where a driver lost control of their vehicle and crashed into a wall. The dynamics are still being ascertained, but the man tested positive for alcohol: after leaving the road, he ended his journey with the impact on the opposite carriageway and was injured. In the night between 1 and 2 April, this is the third accident recorded within a few hours. Another one, in Via Dante in Palermo, had tragic consequences: Ion Doru Vacarescu, a 54-year-old motorcyclist of Romanian origin, lost his life in the collision just before the intersection with Piazza Virgilio. According to initial reconstruction, the man was traveling on a scooter, a T-Max, when, for reasons still under investigation, he lost control of the motorcycle, crashing into a tree. The impact was fatal.
