Misilmeri, forest worker falls into a ravine while cutting grass: condition is serious

#Palermo
Emergency medical technicians and forestry officials worked together this morning to rescue a 55-year-old man who fell into a ditch on Mount Gulino in Misilmeri, Palermo. The man, a forestry worker, was in the rugged area cleaning a government-owned land for the prevention of summer fires. While using a trimmer to cut the grass, he lost his balance and fell. His colleagues immediately called for help. The helicopter rescue team couldn’t land nearby due to thick vegetation, so a doctor and two paramedics reached the man using a forestry vehicle. They strapped him to a stretcher and transported him to a nearby sports field where the helicopter was stationed. He was then flown to Palermo’s Civico Hospital. The man suffered multiple injuries and is in serious condition.
