Licata, Pellegrino attacked with stones while sleeping in a tent: head injury

A young pilgrim was attacked in Sicily while sleeping in his tent after completing the Cammino della Via Fabaria, connected to the Magna Via Francigena. He was hit on the head with rocks, causing a head injury. The incident, which happened a few days ago, was reported by the archaeologist and teacher Davide Comunale. The local authorities expressed regret for the incident and announced the establishment of a welcoming committee for pilgrims passing through Licata. The pilgrim, after receiving medical treatment, continued his spiritual journey. Licata’s mayor and the councilor for Sports, Tourism, and Entertainment also issued a joint statement expressing their condolences and inviting the pilgrim to explore the cultural and scenic beauty of their territory.
