An elderly man was beaten with a stick while in his own home. It happened in Canicattì. According to the reconstruction, during the night, someone would have entered the apartment of the eighty-seven-year-old with their face covered by a balaclava and a stick in hand. After ransacking the house, they noticed the elderly man who had woken up in the meantime and struck him with the stick.
The pensioner’s son raised the alarm. The carabinieri arrived at the scene and carried out all the necessary investigations. No objects or money were stolen, as there was nothing valuable in the house.
The elderly man suffered some injuries and is in a state of shock.
The carabinieri, coordinated by the Agrigento prosecutor’s office, are checking for the possible presence of surveillance cameras, whose footage could be crucial for the continuation of the investigations.
