Explain briefly the following article:
Seized by the finance police of Palermo, 3 and a half kilograms of cocaine and a dangerous fugitive wanted in the Czech Republic were arrested. The drugs were found in a van undergoing inspection on Viale Regione Siciliana. The patrol of the economic-financial police unit had inspected a van with a Polish license plate, as well as a Polish man and a Czech woman. Inside the ventilation system of the vehicle, thanks to the sniffing of the drug detection dog “Elisir” of the Rapid Response Group, there were packages wrapped in transparent cellophane bags, weighing a total of 3.5 kilograms of cocaine, valued at over 300,000 euros on the market. The two individuals responsible were arrested on the spot and taken to the Pagliarelli prison in Palermo.
The judge confirmed the arrest and ordered the precautionary measure of imprisonment for the Polish man. Subsequent investigations revealed the falsity of the documents provided by the man, who turned out to be a dangerous Czech fugitive, wanted for 4 years by the authorities of his country, sentenced to 13 years in prison as the leader of a transnational organization operating between the Czech Republic and Switzerland for drug trafficking. The documents used by the fugitive were traced back to a deceased Polish citizen in 2021, as confirmed by the relevant consular authorities. Therefore, following contacts with the International Police Cooperation Service at the Ministry of the Interior, the finance police carried out the European arrest warrant against the drug trafficker and also reported him to the local public prosecutor for crimes of identity theft, false identity declaration, and possession of fake identification documents.
