The officers of the Judicial Police Team of the Maritime Station have reported, in freedom, a 39-year-old man with a criminal record from Catania, for stealing a purse inside a car parked in the port area and for using the credit cards, contained in the purse, to purchase tobacco worth 120 euros. A woman, a tourism operator, approached the agents to report the theft of the purse left on the back seat of her car containing cash, some payment cards, documents, and personal effects. After starting the investigations, the police officers acquired the images from the surveillance systems, as well as those related to the “entrance” and “exit” gates of the port that revealed the passage of the man’s rented car used to commit the theft. From the vision of the images, it was possible to identify the perpetrator, already known for several criminal records. The man was reported for aggravated theft and improper use of payment cards.
