Vice sergeant turns 100, big party among the carabinieri in Palermo

He celebrated his 100th birthday in what has been his second home and his family throughout his life, the Arma dei Carabinieri. Antonio Monterosso Deputy Brigadier on leavewas born on 11 December 1922 and was in the Carabinieri for 36 years.

For his achievement he was welcomed and celebrated by his colleagues and by the national Carabinieri association, accompanied by his family at the Carlo Alberto Dalla Chiesa barracks of the “Legione dei Carabinieri” Command in Palermo. For the occasion, his 101-year-old fellow soldier Antonino Mazzone arrived from Capo d’Orlando.

He was in the Carabinieri for 49 years, 6 months and 13 days. Also celebrating with the centenarians was General Rosario Castello, commander of the Carabinieri Legion and commissioner Aristide Tamajo, representing the Municipality of Palermo.
