Messina does not undress the black shirt regarding the data on the vaccinated number. The Peloritana province is the last in Sicily. Recorded the percentage of 71.71% ( 1.14%) of citizens vaccinated with at least one dose and 67.33% ( 1.14%) of immunized. Looking at the data in detail, the highest percentage of vaccinated is Roccafiorita, followed by San Marco d’Alunzio, with 92.49% of first doses and 89.91% of immunized patients. Last but not least is Fiumedinisi with 49.65% of first doses and 45.59% of immunized.
He postpones The decline of the epidemic curve continues in Sicily. The progressive decrease in new infections recorded a weekly incidence of 36.5 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants between 11 and 17 October, with a further reduction compared to the previous week (40.8 per 100 thousand inhabitants) and below the threshold of 50 cases out of 100 thousand. The trend appears, however, not homogeneous in all the provinces and it is necessary to carefully evaluate the trend in the coming weeks. The risk, in terms of new cases, remains higher than the regional average in the central-eastern area of the island, in the provinces of Syracuse (60.5), Catania (62.6) and Messina (47.4) . The incidence of new hospitalizations and the level of occupancy of beds continue to decline, indicators that reflect the impact of cases from previous weeks and mainly affect non-immunized subjects. Lethality remains stable.
As regards the vaccination campaign, an element of attention is the obligation of the “green pass” in the workplace which has determined an increase in the first doses delivered in the last week. In particular, there is a peak close to October 15, the date of the beginning of the obligation of green certification in the workplace (on the day of October 14 alone the first doses administered were 9,507). There is a significant upward trend in the first doses, concentrated in the age groups 12-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, with an increase of 4.81 percent of doses administered compared to the previous week.
The administration of the additional dose continues for immunocompromised and transplant recipients / awaiting transplantation, as well as the administration of the booster dose for the categories identified in the ministerial circular prot. n. 45886 of 08/10/2021 and later. From 20 October it is possible for those over 60 entitled to book the third dose, as long as six months have passed since the administration of the second.
