Two underage boys arrested for attempting robbery with bat and club in Palermo

Two teenagers entered a pharmacy with a baseball bat and a baton to rob the cash. The two boys, aged 15 and 16, were stopped by police officers and by a off-duty carabiniere who was in the commercial activity in via Pitrè, in Palermo. Immediately after the break-in, the pharmacist managed to raise the alarm through the 112 hotline, allowing the police control room to send out the patrols of the mobile unit. Before the arrival of the police on motorcycles, the off-duty carabiniere intervened, blocking the two young men who were trying to escape. The police officers entered the pharmacy, arrested the minors, seized the bat and the baton, and acquired the images from the CCTV. The two boys, who had minor previous convictions for similar crimes, were taken to juvenile court, where the judge, at the end of the hearing, ordered the 16-year-old to be held in custody and the 15-year-old to be placed in a community facility.
