Two men from Mazara favored a drug trafficker’s hiding, sentenced to 3 years

The Marsala Court sentenced Giuseppe Armata and Nicolò Tardino, from Mazara del Vallo, to three years in prison each for aiding the fugitive Vito Bigione, who was captured in Romania in October 2018. The prosecutor Francesca Dessì invoked the conviction for causing a breach of sentence. Bigione, known as the “accountant,” was considered a professional broker in drug trafficking with Colombia and had previous convictions for international drug trafficking. He is believed to be connected to the Agate mafia family in Mazara and the ‘ndrangheta in Platì.
