Two fires in Enna, some tourists evacuated

Two fires broke out in Enna. The flames broke out from the shrubs surrounding the Esso petrol station in Enna Bassa and climbed the ridge until they reached the San Calogero road, one of the arteries leading to the Castle and where there are dozens of houses that have been evacuated. Tourists and visitors, including 12 archaeologists from the University of Siena who are in Enna on a mission, were brought out of the ancient manor.

The intervention of the fire brigade

The Forestry and the fire brigade intervened on the spot while two helicopters are operating. “I asked for the immediate dispatch of the Canadair – explains the mayor of Enna, Maurizio Dipietro -. We fear that the flames could also reach the Museum of Myth”.
