It was officially communicated by the councilor for cultural heritage Alberto Samonà financing from one and a half million euros of the Sicilian Region to bring to light the Hellenistic theater of Halaesa Arconidea.
The news was expected after what was anticipated on 21 July by the mayor Luigi Mycelia on the occasion of the conference to present the results of the Archaeological Mission 2022, held in the church of Santa Maria delle Palate.
One and a half million euros that will be valid on the PSC (acronym which stands for Development and Cohesion Plan 2021/2027).
The regional government ordered it, as anticipated, on the proposal of the commissioner Samonà.
The executive project was drawn up in recent months by the Archaeological Park of Tindari, of which the site is part.
“The funding for the continuation of the excavations aimed at bringing to light the Hellenistic theater of Halaesa Arconidea – underlines Alberto Samonà – was a specific commitment that I had made with the local community, but also with the archaeologists who have been working on this site for years, considered one of the most important in northern Sicily ».
