Trial in Caltanissetta to Hear from 4 More Witnesses in Via D’Amelio Massacre

The Court of Appeals of Caltanissetta, chaired by Giovanbattista Tona, during yesterday afternoon’s hearing (February 20) of the trial on the obstruction of investigations into the via D’Amelio massacre, accepted the request of the prosecutor general Maurizio Bonaccorso to hear the testimonies of Nicola Aiuto, Maurizio Zerilli, Giovanni Franco, and Francesco Vaiana, all police officers, on the circumstances related to the discovery of the service annotation by Maurizio Zerilli on the inspections carried out in June 1994. The Court also rejected the defense lawyer Giuseppe Seminara’s request to hear the former magistrate Ilda Boccasini, who, while serving at the prosecutor’s office, first expressed doubts about the reliability of the false collaborator Vincenzo Scarantino. The next hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, February 27 at 3:30 pm.
