Three Danish tourists were beaten and robbed last night on Via Venezia in Palermo. The three, who had spent the evening and night in the historic center’s clubs, were approached by some young criminals and a violent robbery took place.
According to the victims’ accounts, it appears that the tourists had spent some time with the young immigrants, many of whom were in the streets near Via Maqueda. Then the robbery took place. The tourists, robbed of their wallets, money, and cell phones, were assisted by the 118 emergency services. The carabinieri intervened and began their investigation through the victims’ accounts and surveillance camera footage in the area.
