"Palermo was among the few cities that during the second world war suffered the bombardment by all the major participating aviations: France, England, the United States, Germany and Italy". In his book Bombs on Palermo Writer Alessandro Bellomo underlines a record that the Sicilian capital would have liked to have avoided. But there is another aspect, even more unknown, that instead is linked to these days and more generally to Ferragosto. That is the bombing that took place in the night between 14 and 15 August 1943, exactly 76 years ago.
